The public interest purpose of ILU is to protect the rights, human rights, and dignity of workers, sole proprietors, freelancers, and other working people and their supporters, regardless of nationality, place of residence, employment status, occupation, affiliated organization, or other status, and to provide opportunities for information provision, consultation support, expression of opinion, mutual aid, solidarity, and international cooperation regarding labor and social issues such as working conditions, wages, contracts, dismissal, harassment, and unfair treatment.

It also aims to help working people cooperate across borders to prevent or resolve unfair treatment, exploitation, human rights violations, and other harms, as well as to contribute to the creation of fair and sustainable working environments and societies, and the promotion of international cooperation.

The target audience of this site is people worldwide, primarily those who use English, Khmer, and Japanese. The main languages used on this site are also English, Khmer, and Japanese.

This site is not operated for the purpose of generating revenue as a website, but rather for the purpose of information provision, dissemination, consultation, collaboration, support, and other activities based on ILU's public interest objectives.

However, the names, activities, initiatives, products, services, or similar of external organizations, companies, individuals, and other entities other than ILU that endorse ILU's public interest purpose or support its activities may be introduced, posted, or advertised free of charge on this site.

ILU itself also has the public interest as its primary purpose and does not engage in for-profit activities as its main activity.
